Coaching for peer and lived experience leaders in mental health
A safe space for reflection and growth
Peer and lived experience leadership roles are increasingly common in our mental health systems. Being in such a role brings influence but it can also be an isolating experience as people find themselves navigating power within organisations while trying to remain to the values they have been championing. That can make for a difficult balancing act.
Safe spaces for reflection and growth are really important for peer leaders but are often lacking. We know that such supports are best offered by people who understand the complexities of peer and lived experience leadership and all that it entails for identity, personal growth and professional development.
Gestalt coaching is a non-directive , process driven and experiential approach to supporting personal and professional development and is well aligned with peer and lived experience principles and values.
What I bring to coaching peer and lived experience leaders:

Fully qualified Gestalt Coach working towards becoming credentialed with the International Coaching Federation.
Direct experience of the complexities of working to manage my own mental health and distress while working in high pressure environments.
